The novel “Son of Yazdon”, the tenth novel from the cycle “History of Poland” by the famous Polish classic Yu.I. Kraszewski takes the reader to Poland in the mid-13th century. The invasion of the Tatars, fragmentation, civil strife... On the Krakow throne is Boleslav the Shy, a pious prince who is struggling to stay on the throne. Pavel, Bishop of Krakow, a participant in the battle with the Tatars near Liegnitz, weaves conspiracies first against Boleslaw, then against Leszek the Black, trying to achieve power... From fragmentary information from the chronicles, Kraszewski was able to recreate the life of Pavel of Przemankow, a treacherous, cunning man, greedy for power. In Russian language, the novel is published for the first time.
