Slavoj Žižek, one of the most famous and unorthodox (and also recognized as one of the most dangerous) philosophers of our time, in his book “Trouble in Paradise” poses the question: is it possible to find a way out of the crisis of capitalism? states: capitalism is in deep crisis. Starting from F. Fukuyama’s idea of Western liberal democracy as the ultimate and best form of social order and diagnosing the “troubles” shaking the world capitalist paradise through the prism of the “communist hypothesis,” Žižek analyzes the possibilities and pitfalls of a new liberation struggle. In his typical manner, he conducts his arguments in an active dialogue between philosophy and popular culture, combining Marxism and K-pop, Batman and Thatcher, etc., and makes the narrative jump from the debt economy to the struggle for control of cyberspace, from dead-end situations of the “Arab Spring” to the futility of anti-Eurocentrism, from the pressure of the ideological superego to the ambiguous role of violence in the liberation struggle. The result is a sharply critical picture of the current state of the world and the coming new order.
