In this article “Ponds on the Zhujiang River of China” the author is Kasymov Sh.R. based on an analysis of available material from the media, published on the Internet recently, about the flood situation in the Pearl River basin of the People's Republic of China, about the river itself and the problems there in the present and past, it speaks of the possibility of their partial solution by creating 3 compensating and settling ponds in the main tributaries of this river, gave their approximate location with a total useful volume of 2 km3, and dimensions. The author believes that the accumulation of water in these ponds during the flood period (during rainfall) will subsequently (October-March) replenish groundwater and improve a more stable supply of water to the agricultural needs of the region during periods of low precipitation.
