In this article, “Water of the Zhem (Emba) River for the benefit of residents of the oil region,” the author is Kasymov Sh.R. based on the analysis of extensive material from the media, published on the Internet recently, about the flood situation in the Zhem (Emba) river basin, about the river itself and the problems there in the present and past, speaks about the possibility of solving them by creating a compensating pond in the middle reaches river (at the exit from the foothills to the plain), theoretically developed such a pond, its approximate location, size, layout of the main elements and determined the approximate cost of its creation, shows the advantages of its activities to residents and business entities in the given region, as well as the river nature. The author does not rule out that a prudent attitude towards the river’s waters and the functioning of a compensating pond will make it possible to reunite its watercourse with the Caspian Sea in the future.
