For practitioners of the path of contemplation in the tradition of Laya Yoga, the concept of “sankalpa” is associated with the intention to realize the world in a certain way, to see the universe through the eyes of an enlightened deity or the Absolute. The art of sankalpa is not meditation, but the art of controlling perception, seeing the world. Brought to perfection, it allows the yogi to surpass the level of meditation and go beyond the limits of meditation and the meditator - into the natural state of contemplation. Therefore, natural contemplation is also called the yoga of non-meditation in the sense that reality is perceived directly without effort and mental constructions.
