The humor and irony that fill his stories, novels and novels are so unique that it is enough to snatch at least a few lines from the text to immediately say - this is Sheckley. And the author himself did not at all hide his attitude towards literature: “All my life I tried not to be too serious. I do not consider myself a political thinker and try to convey everything to readers in an easy, non-intrusive form. Irony is my style. I did not choose irony as the natural basis of my thinking, it just happened that way. It seems to me that people are more interested in ridicule rather than teaching, an entertaining story rather than a long-winded argument. If what I say remains misunderstood or not fully understood, if people just read a funny story and relax at the same time, that’s completely fine with me.”
