The book is the latest study of the life and work of the “king” of the pirates of the Caribbean, one of the prototypes of Captain Blood, the hero of numerous adventure novels and films. Henry Morgan was born into the family of a Welsh farmer, but by the will of fate he found himself on the distant islands of the West Indies and went through a difficult path from an ordinary participant in pirate raids to the admiral of a corsair flotilla, a judge of the admiralty court and the governor of Jamaica, for numerous military “feats” he was knighted and was buried at Port Royal with admiral's honors. Much later, the Morgan family of American millionaires included his name in their pedigree, and one of the rum companies made Captain Morgan a world-famous brand.
