The book contains the publication of the first translation into Russian of an important monument of Korean historiography of the 16th century. - section “Official Papers” from the “Complete Collection of Documents of Lee Sunsin” (“Lee Chungmu Gong Jeongso”), carried out by the famous Soviet Korean scholar I.I. Hwang (1912-1985). The main area of academic interests of this scientist was the history of the struggle of the Korean people against the Japanese invasion of 1592-1598. (known in history as the War of the Year of Imjin) and the personality of one of the key figures of that era - the famous Korean naval commander Yi Sunsin (1545-1598). Official papers from the collection of the military leader (as well as his diary, published in the series “Monuments of Eastern Writing” in 2013 d) represent a most valuable source not only on the military, but also on the political and socio-economic history of Korea.
