The novels “Me, Grandma, Iliko and Illarion” and “I See the Sun” are largely autobiographical. The action takes place in villages where during the Patriotic War only old men remained. An orphaned boy, Zuriko, who lives with his grandmother, grows up under the supervision of old neighbors. Both of them are sharp-tongued, love to joke or even play each other, are full of kindness, life wisdom and are always ready to help those in need.
