“Divine Comedy. Purgatory" is the second part of the masterpiece poem by the great Italian Renaissance poet Dante Alighieri (Italian: Dante Alighieri, 1265 - 1321).*** Dante Alighieri is deservedly called the “father of Italian literature.” Lost in a dense forest, Dante meets the poet Virgil and goes with him on a journey through the afterlife. After going through the nine circles of Hell, the poets find themselves in Purgatory, where there are people who managed to repent of their sins before death. To get to heaven, they must purify themselves by experiencing torment for their sins. The other two parts of this brilliant work are “Hell” and “Paradise”. This edition contains a unique, rare translation by Dmitry Min, completed in 1855.
