In this edition, for the first time, the full text of the Novgorod Chronicle is published according to Dubrovsky's list, which contains the most extensive Novgorod chronicle of the 16th century, brought up to 1539. The Chronicle was preserved in the only copy of the beginning of the 17th century. as part of the collection (RNB, F.IV.238), which previously belonged to P. P. Dubrovsky (1754–1816). The Appendix to the publication presents the works preceding and following the chronicle. The collection of P. P. Dubrovsky as a whole is a collection of the most important works for the middle of the 16th century, the time of Metropolitan Macarius.
