The Beat movement became a notable event not only in the literary, but also in the socio-political life of the United States in the 50s of the 20th century; its truly revolutionary influence on world culture has not weakened to this day, after half a century. In this anthology, the work of poets of the beatnik circle is presented for the first time in Russian in such a volume. All poems (many of which have been translated for the first time) are accompanied by the original text and commentary. The anthology includes short biographies of poets, as well as the most interesting critical and theoretical articles related to the beatnik movement.
