Savior Tara is one of the most revered deities of the Indo-Tibetan pantheon, she is the protector of all Buddhists who call her Mother: not only because she, like a mother, looks at all living beings with love and compassion, but also because that she is the mother of all the Buddhas of three times. Many great teachers of the past, in order to glorify Tara, composed hymns to her, in particular, such an outstanding Buddhist mentor and preacher as Atisha. This book contains poetic translations into Russian of Atisha’s hymn and five others texts of praise in honor of Tara and her various forms (21 Tara, Green Tara, White Tara), belonging to the treasury of Indo-Tibetan Buddhist literature. In addition to translation, this book contains original texts in Tibetan. The appendices contain an extensive scientific apparatus containing critical texts, interlinear interpretations and glossaries for each text. The book is equipped with several illustrations from the fund of Buddhist icons of the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Translation from Tibetan, critical text, preface, appendices by A.V. Zorin, - M. : Open World, 2009. - 272 p. - (“Samadhi”).
