Criminal-adventurous comedies “Bologna Quadrille” and “Charming Idiot” are works that are parodies of “spy passions”. The heroes of Exbray's "spy" novels are not at all similar to those whom we are used to seeing on the pages of detective stories. This is especially true for his parodies. In essence, most of these characters, strange as it may seem, are occupied not so much by work as by their own love experiences. Psychological dramas and tragedies of Exbray are resolved, naturally, in a completely different way. The novel “The Last Bastard,” which tells the story of a police chief who goes into the service of gangsters terrorizing the entire city, is deeply shocking. But, as in other novels, love and hatred are intertwined here in a tight ball.

Чудове поєднання кримінального жанру та комедії!
Книга "Болонська кадриль. Чарівна ідіотка. Остання сволота" вразила мене своєю оригінальністю та непередбачуваністю. Автор вдало пародіює шпигунські романи, надаючи персонажам не лише комічні, а й глибокі психологічні риси. Особливо вразила історія про начальника поліції, який зрадив своїм принципам і став на бік гангстерів. Це створює напружену атмосферу, де кохання та ненависть переплітаються в заплутаній мережі стосунків. Читаючи, я не міг стримати усмішку від кумедних ситуацій, які виникають через любовні переживання персонажів, що, здається, відволікають їх від основної мети. Ця книга - не лише розвага, а й глибоке дослідження людської природи, що робить її вартою уваги. Рекомендую всім, хто любить нестандартні підходи до детективного жанру!
