The book is the next edition of the collection “Ancient Sources on the History of Eastern Europe”, the initiative to publish which belongs to corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Sciences Vladimir Terentyevich Pashuto (1918-1983). This is the second part of the planned three-volume publication of information from Icelandic royal sagas about the peoples of the Eastern Baltic states, Ancient Rus' and the Russian North. (The first was published in 1993.) The second part includes fragments of the “Saga of Saint Olaf” according to all surviving editions.
