“A Time to Live” is the sixth and final book in the large-scale “Russian Cross” saga about the generation that changed the country. A narrative covering more than twenty turning points and eventful years in the modern history of Russia. The main characters of the novel - four school friends - face a difficult fate. They fall in love, break up, make mistakes, move forward, defending their truth, changing along with their country. The novel also contains all the dramatic moments of this difficult time: the collapse of the state and a change in the social system, wars and new market relations, the first bourgeois pleasures and gang wars... Unlike the five previous books (“Paradise Lost”, “The Unfrightened Generation”, “The Good Ones”) wishes”, “Whirlwinds of Change”, “Wolf Songs”), the title of the final part of the novel sounds optimistic. Does this mean that in the fate of the main characters everything is back to normal? No. Life presents them with new and difficult tasks.
