The “Book of the Living” trilogy is a new work by the famous Russian writer Alexander Lapin, the author of the epic “Russian Cross”, the novels “Holy Sinners” and “Crimean Bridge”, which are connected with it by common characters and have already won the sympathy of the domestic reader. It completes the saga of the generation that entered life in the early 60s of the 20th century. “The Book of the Living” consisted of three very different works, both in scale and genre. “Roman and Daria” is a story about love forced to confront a society that is still split into “red” and “white”; the novel “Superkhan” is a political detective story set in a “brave new world” built on the ruins of the USSR; and the philosophical parable “Viruses” is an understanding of the experience imposed on us by the pandemic.
