The novel “Russian Cross” is a “saga about a generation”, covering a large-scale period of the late 20th - early 21st centuries, in which the twists and turns of the destinies of four school friends are revealed. “The Russian Cross” consists of five books. For the first time, the author introduces the main characters of the novel to the reader in the book “Paradise Lost” - a lyrical narrative about his school youth. The second novel of the saga, “The Unfrightened Generation,” is about growing up, the happy years of student life, military service, the first difficult decisions and responsibility for them. In the third book, “Good Wishes,” the inner formation of the characters takes place against the backdrop of historical events in which they are participants or witnesses. become: nationalist protests in the union republics, the war in Afghanistan, the earthquake in Spitak... “Everyone has their own truth” - this is the name of one of the parts of the novel. And indeed, each of the heroes will defend his truth: the journalist has one, the nationalist has another, the KGB officer has a third, and the fourth seeks it in unity with nature. Each of them is guided by the best wishes, but sincerity of thoughts, as we know, is not always a guarantee of achieving the intended result.
