The author was not satisfied with the first trilogy ("Taliesin", "Merlin", "Arthur") and decided to continue it, telling on behalf of Merlin the story of how King Arthur received the title of Pendragon, the main military leader of England, how he did everything possible and the impossible to unite the country, defeat the Saxons and create a powerful state, which the island had not yet known. Merlin retells the story of Arthur's life from the very first days of the future king, the story of his miraculous healing after wounds received in a duel with the leader of the Vandals, in which the Holy Grail plays a major role.
