In the 16th century, the physician Michel de Notredame, known as Nostradamus (1503-1566), lived in France. He was looking for a cure for the plague that devastated the country, and achieved significant success in the fight against the terrible disease. But at the same time, the doctor was unable to protect his family from her - his wife and two children. Perhaps this is what awakened the mysterious prophetic gift in him. In 1555, Nostradamus published Centuries, a book telling about the future. In short quatrain poems - vague in content and unclear in form - the poet told people about what they had to experience. Nostradamus's predictions, in his own words, describe events approximately 4,500 years old (the last precisely dated prediction was in 1999). In other words, in his quatrains our descendants will be able to see the similarity of contemporary events - provided that they want to read them and understand their meaning. Soon after the publication of “Centuries”, Nostradamus’ prophecies began to come true: at least that’s what it seemed to his contemporaries and descendants . From that time until the present time, people have been trying to unravel the meaning of his confusing statements. The number of interpretations is increasing almost every year, but, unfortunately, the vast majority of them are very strained and only testify to the amateurism of the interpreters. Nevertheless, today the name of Nostradamus is still popular, his books continue to be published all over the world, and so far no one can say with confidence that medieval prophecies have completely exhausted themselves. The words of Nostradamus continue to echo over the world: “Someday in the future my predictions will be fully understood, and people will be amazed at how accurate they are.”
