Vladimir Odoevsky called Pushkin the sun of our poetry in his obituary. The poet was given an insultingly little life - she, this life, indeed, quickly rose like the morning sun, sparkled brightly at the zenith and sadly set over the horizon, leaving us with that artistic world that is now revered in Russia as a national treasure, and Pushkin himself has long been became a Russian national symbol. In every city there is a street or Pushkin Square; in the places where the poet lived or simply visited, there are museums. His works are included in school anthologies, his lines are widely quoted. “Pushkin is our everything,” Apollo Grigoriev once said. This phrase is exactly one and a half centuries old, but it still haunts domestic intellectuals, provoking them to more and more new interpretations of it. “Our memory keeps from childhood the cheerful name: Pushkin,” said Alexander Blok in 1921. In the same speech there is another option - “this is an easy name: Pushkin.” The block, as always, is laconic and precise. What is striking about Pushkin’s literary heritage is the “harmonization” of everything that his genius touches. Pushkin stands at the origins of modern Russian literature - and this applies to absolutely all its types and genres: poetry, prose, criticism, drama. The variety of genres and styles developed, the lightness, grace and accuracy of verse, the relief and strength of characters, “enlightened humanism”, the universality of poetic thinking and the very personality of Pushkin predetermined his paramount importance in Russian literature: in essence, he taught Russia to speak modern Russian.
