“The Song of the Nibelungs” is one of the most famous epic works of world literature. A heroic epic written by an unknown author at the beginning of the 13th century in Middle High German. The reader unfolds a mythological, but reflecting historical events, plot about the marriage of the Frankish warrior Siegfried to the Burgundian princess Kriemhild, about his death at the hands of his brothers due to the conflict between Kriemhild and the powerful Icelandic queen Brunhilda, about Kriemhilda's revenge with the help of the Hun ruler Etzel on her fellow tribesmen for the murder of her beloved husband Siegfried and, finally, about the search for the treasures of the Nibelungs, drowned in the Rhine. Courageous warriors and delightful women, eternal love and inevitable death, noble loyalty and treacherous betrayal, irreconcilable hatred and brutal bloodshed... A story of eternal values that will not leave the reader indifferent. “The Song of the Nibelungs” consists of 39 adventures, each of which is preceded by realistic and elegant illustrations by German artists Julius Hübner and Eduard Bendemann. The artistic design is complemented by drawings by the famous English illustrator Arthur Rackham. The parallel text given in the book makes it especially educational and useful for learning the German language (in PDF version). The poetic translation into Russian, awarded the Pushkin Prize, was written by M. I. Kudryashev. The ribbon, convenient format and beautiful cover add sophistication and attractiveness to the book. You can purchase it not only for your collection, but also as a gift to loved ones. The publishing layout of the book is saved in PDF A4 format.
