The third of a series of books published in connection with the 100th anniversary of the remarkable Russian philosopher and philologist includes his works of the 20s - early 30s.  Of these, only “Dialectics of Myth” and “Primordial Essence” were relatively recently republished.  “Criticism of Platonism in Aristotle” and “Dialectics of Numbers in Plotinus” have long become a bibliographic rarity.  The remaining works (which make up the majority of the volume) are being published for the first time.  The main themes of the essays are myth as an integral part of culture and the problem of numbers in antiquity in comparison with modern cultural consciousness.
