This edition is supplied with letters from Socrates and the Socratics. The translation of these letters was carried out by the famous translator of the early 20th century S. P. Kondratiev. The letters date back to approximately the 1st–3rd centuries, but nevertheless, of course, represent not only literary, but also historical value.

Біографії персонажів написані так яскраво і просто, що навіть новачок у філософії зможе легко зрозуміти їхні ідеї та внесок у розвиток мислення. Особливо вражає, як автори змогли передати дух епохи, в якій жили ці великі мислителі, а також їхній вплив на подальший розвиток філософії. Переклад С. П. Кондратьєва додає додаткову цінність, роблячи текст ще більш доступним для сучасного читача. Рекомендую цю книгу всім, хто хоче зануритися в світ античної філософії та зрозуміти основи, на яких базується західна думка
