Erich Fromm is an outstanding thinker of the twentieth century, one of the founders of neo-Freudianism. Fromm's works are extremely popular all over the world - even during his lifetime, his main works, devoted to ethical and socio-psychological issues of human nature, went through dozens of reprints in millions of copies. The fundamental changes that occurred in human society in the twentieth century led to the need to revise the classical psychoanalysis of Sigmund Freud. Recognizing the fundamental discoveries of his teacher, Erich Fromm nevertheless considered his theory about the dominant role of sexuality in the human psyche to be a delusion. In his work “Revision of Psychoanalysis,” he outlined his views on a new, humanistic approach to psychoanalysis and further prospects for its development.
