Erich Fromm is a major thinker of the 20th century, one of the great cohort of “philosophers from psychology” and the spiritual leader of the Frankfurt School of Sociology. The collection “Being Human” includes articles and lectures from different years devoted to issues in which Erich Fromm maintained interest throughout throughout his life. He believed that the only alternative to the modern development of society, leading to the self-alienation of the human personality, could only be the renaissance of humanism, and suggested taking a closer look at the works of humanist thinkers, the most prominent representatives of which were Meister Eckhart and, paradoxically as it may sound, Karl Marx. In his work “The Concept of Man in Karl Marx,” Erich Fromm tried to debunk the existing stereotypes and numerous interpretations that distorted the true philosophy of Marx beyond recognition.
