The topic of the use of Muslim legions in the Third Reich has received virtually no coverage in historical literature. Muslim eastern formations, being full-fledged combat units, represented a special category among foreign legions, which was associated with political, religious and ideological facts and the reasons for their creation. Arab, Indian and Balkan volunteers served in the German armed forces, as well as Muslim citizens of the USSR. Among the Soviet Muslims there were volunteers from Central Asia and Kazakhstan, Transcaucasia and the Middle Caucasus, the Volga region and Crimea. The book will be of interest to both specialists and military history buffs.
