A Christian comes from faith; faith begins from the Gospel, as will be said below. Therefore, in discussing Christianity, we must first of all briefly offer a discussion about the Gospel and faith.
Faith begins from the Gospel, and a Christian begins from faith, as stated in the previous article. The assembly of Christians constitutes the Church, into which entry occurs through nothing other than faith and holy Baptism. Therefore, in this article, in brief, a discussion is offered about the Church and holy Baptism.
Although from the above it can be seen that we, Christians, are debtors to our God, who had mercy and saved us, however, in this article it is more extensive and clear it shows what a Christian, by the strength of his faith and calling, is obliged to render towards God, about which reasoning in its place will be offered.
The duty of a Christian to himself is that he in the feat of faith did not weaken with the help of God, and thus would have received eternal salvation, which Christ purchased for us by His death. Although freely, only by grace, the faithful receive eternal life, according to Scripture: The gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Rom. 6:23), however, a constant feat is required against the devil, the world, the flesh, which hinder Christians and do not allow them to eternal bliss. Anyone who wants to be saved needs a lot of work against these enemies. As great and lofty as Christianity is, it is subject to many temptations and disasters. Therefore, one must guard it with a vigilant eye.
This position is spoken of in the first book, in the chapter on love, mercy, and so on. Here the same office is explained from the likeness taken from the members of the human body, since Christianity is a spiritual body, according to the teaching of the Apostle Paul.
In the previous article, a brief discussion was proposed about the general office of Christians towards each other, which has Christian to Christian. This (article) offers a discussion about the position that bosses have to bosses, and subordinates to bosses, parents to children, and children to parents, and so on.
