An extraordinary poetic interpretation of the Ukrainian folk tale grabs the soul from the first lines and does not let go until the very end, forcing you to empathize with the characters. If your child demands the most real scary stories, then it's here. “It contains envy, revenge, a curse, murder, witchcraft,” however, the author spares the child’s psyche: he does not allow the main character to coldly put the witch’s daughter into the oven, but frames her death as a tragic accident. But all the other horrors are present: the Snake and her guests eat Alenka, gnaw and saw the tree on which Ivasik is hiding, the flying geese do not respond to his prayers - and finally a happy outcome: the last goose saves the boy and brings him home. Although here, in the best traditions of horror, the goose almost becomes a victim of unjust fate, but now Ivasik pays him back in kind.
