Veche Publishing House presents a new series of fictional prose, “The White Guard Novel,” which brings together the works of authors who overwhelmingly took part in the Civil War of 1917–1922. on the side of the White movement. The famous writer of Russian abroad, General Pyotr Nikolaevich Krasnov, in his novel “Hatred”, first of all tried to capture the life of Russian society before the Great War (1914–1918). The contrast between the noble aspirations of young patriots of Russia and the base motives of the future sowers of trouble - revolutionaries, is perhaps the main leitmotif of the story. Without overestimating the artistic merits of the novel, we can say with confidence that “Hate” seems to be the most successful work of General Krasnov in terms of covering two adjacent eras in time – pre-war Russia, prosperous and strong, and Russia, where the Bolshevik government came to power. p>
