Yuri Pavlovich Kazakov (1927–1982) is a classic of Russian literature of the twentieth century. His stories, which appeared in the mid-fifties, were a stunning success - they saw the author as Bunin’s successor; Aesthetic disagreements immediately arose with official criticism. However, the author of the brilliant short stories “Manka”, “Tralli-vali”, “Arcturus the Hound Dog” himself always lived on his own, without looking back at either authorities or detractors.
