The proposed collection of works by the classic of Russian literature of the 20th century, Yuri Pavlovich Kazakov (1927–1982), includes his best stories - smart, subtle, lyrical, philosophical. The famous writer Yuri Nagibin recalled him this way: “He did not know the period of apprenticeship, maturation, he came to literature as an established writer with an excellent language, a refined style... He never adapted to the “requirements”, fashion, prevailing tastes and did not even know that this is... The Word was given to him from God. And I have never met a purer person in literature.” Kazakov has always been attracted by the fundamental principle of life, its power, which manifests itself not in “today” with momentary worries, but in the comprehension of human nature, most clearly noticeable in work, love, finding happiness, caring for loved ones.
