Alberto Vázquez-Figueroa is a Spanish writer, journalist and inventor. He is a native of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, born on October 11, 1936. In early childhood, his family was deported to Africa for political reasons, where he lived between Morocco and the Sahara until he was sixteen years old. In his youth he worked as a scuba diving teacher aboard the training ship Cruz del Sur. In 1962, after studying journalism, he began working as a special correspondent for Spanish Television. Over the course of fifteen years, Alberto Vázquez-Figueroa visited almost a hundred countries and witnessed numerous incidents of our time, including wars and revolutions in Guinea, Chad, Congo, Dominican Republic, Bolivia, Guatemala, etc. The consequences of a diving accident forced him to leave this work. Having devoted one season to cinema, he concentrated entirely on literary work, publishing more than forty books, including: Ebony, Ocean, Iguana, New Gods, Bora Bora, the Hundred Lights series.
