How did the children of late Soviet generations develop an understanding of what kind of world they live in? The real world and the propaganda “otherness”—how did they correlate in the child’s consciousness? How did parents instill in their children that talking and thinking is dangerous, that “nothing depends on us”? These attitudes were completely contrary to the declared goals of communist education, but it was the directives of conformity and fear that were instilled and perceived with overwhelming effectiveness.
