In this book, the hitherto unknown young A.F. Losev, an outstanding Russian thinker who lived a long and difficult life (1893–1988), appears before the reader for the first time. These are confessions of a lonely soul, revealing himself in letters to his beloved girl, in diary thoughts about God, faith, eternity, philosophy, beauty. Together with Losev, these diaries were arrested in 1930 and miraculously returned from Lubyanka only in 1995. The stories of the mature Losev-writer, placed in the book (some of them are published for the first time), are full of echoes of young hobbies for music and theater, reflections on the mysteries of humanity fate. Autobiographical materials and fiction by Losev are accompanied by articles, comments, photographs, and a name index. Anyone who cares about Russian culture will read this publication with interest.
