The author of this book, like the other three, representing quarters of the year, is a Doctor of Philology, professor, member of the Writers' Union since 1972 and the Union of Journalists since 1969. Here is a literary calendar. Designed not only for literature lovers, but also for those who love such genres as memoirs, popular science biographies of writers, such as those published in the “Life of Remarkable People” series. Naturally, the author knew many of the people written about here personally. And this circumstance gave the calendar notes a partly memoiristic character. But popular essays aren't just about great writers. Like all people, writers are different: wonderful and not so wonderful, kind and evil, brave and cautious. In this sense, the author's notes are subjective. The author presents his characters as he sees them.
