The author worked in the literary press for more than forty years. Of these, 27 years, from 1967 to 1995, at Literaturnaya Gazeta, which, together with his other colleagues, he started as a sixteen-page publication, which at that time gained wild popularity. For 12 years, from 1992 to 2006, the author headed the newspaper for teachers “Literature” of the Publishing House “First of September”. I had the opportunity to work as an author and editor of the script board of the State Committee for Cinematography of the USSR, and to be a member of the editorial board of the journal “Questions of Literature. As the author has already written, in the annotation to the first book (quarter) of his calendar, the goal he pursues is to give the reader a feel for the artist discussed in the calendar note. The fates of writers are different, but, alas, for the most part they still cannot be called happy. Many writers remain in literature, but many seem to have sunk into oblivion.
