In the book “Genghis Khan. The Imperial Idea" tells the story of what inspired the great ruler and commander Genghis Khan for such extensive conquests and what were the underlying reasons for the enormous successes of the people he led. In the first section of the book you will learn about Mongolian Tengerism, founded by Genghis Khan, as the ideology of the nomadic empire, to which he attached no less meaning than the superiority of military forces, and which became a powerful moral argument that legitimized the violent actions of the Mongols on a global scale. You will get acquainted with the institutions that have come down to us (“Great Yasa”) and sayings (“Bilik”) of Genghis Khan, which clearly demonstrate what “well-known higher principles and ideas, united into a coherent system”, Genghis Khan was guided by when creating his invincible army. The testimonies of Genghis Khan's contemporaries (Chinese intelligence ambassadors and Western European Christian missionaries), included in the second section of the book, will give an idea of the military art of the Mongols of the era of Genghis Khan: the organizational structure of the Mongol army, its weapons, some tactical techniques in military operations, including during a siege fortresses, the moral impact on the population and, most importantly, the goals of their military doctrine of “world sovereignty.” The third section of this edition includes chapters of the new book by A.V. Melekhin “Genghis Khan. Chronicle of life. Chronicle collection". This fragment covers the period from 1215 to 1227, the time of the Central Asian campaign of Genghis Khan’s army and the final stage of his many years of war with the Tangud kingdom. The historical material contained in these chapters gives a clear idea of how the doctrine of “world sovereignty” of Genghis Khan was put into practice, how those “higher principles and ideas united into a coherent system” that guided Genghis Khan in carrying out military construction were put into practice , how the Mongol military leaders trained by him showed their military art. About the order established by Genghis Khan after his appearance, and about the jars that he commanded[14]
