Book - publication of the collection "Folklore of the Tver Province", compiled by philologist-folklorist prof. Yu.M. Sokolov and his student M.I. Rozhnova in 1929 based on materials from scientific and local history expeditions in the Tver province in the 1920s. Folklore material is divided into the following sections: wedding rites and customs; epic and ritual, round and dance songs, soldier and prison songs; folk adaptations of poems (“cruel romances”); ditties; fairy tales and stories; holidays; superstitions and legends, conspiracies, signs; riddles, proverbs and sayings; children's folklore. The appendices contain scientific and methodological articles by Yu.M. Sokolov, an article about his scientific research and a list of the scientist’s works (1919–1935).
