The works in the collection are devoted to the study of the Platonic tradition at various stages of its development. The book analyzes the teachings of Plato himself (genology, metaphysics, cosmology, ethics), and examines the concepts of Plutarch, Plotinus, Iamblichus, Syrian, Proclus, Macrobius, Dionysius the Areopagite, Maximus the Confessor. Prosopographical studies reconstruct the biographies of the Platonists - the pagan Marcian Capella and the Christian Origen. An experience of phenomenological reading of the theories of John Scott (Eriugena) is proposed. The question of knowledge of Plato and his dialogues in Russia at the beginning of the 20th century is explored. The book includes conversations with famous French experts in ancient and medieval philosophy. Translations of the works of Plutarch of Chaeronea (On the emergence of the soul in Timaeus. Part I), the Neoplatonist Porphyry (Approaches to the intelligible), books 10–11 of the Commentary on Origen’s “Gospel of Matthew” are published. Under the general editorship of V.V. Petrova.
