One of the most fundamental principles of this book is that dreams have meaning. A dream is not only a deeply personal product, but also a mirror that allows you to see the processes taking place in culture. The environment in which we live influences not only the content of dreams, but also the technology of representation. Analyzing personal dreams, we inevitably find ourselves faced with the public dreams of cinema and advertising. Dream analysis is not only a chance to better understand oneself, but also an opportunity to trace the ideology of exploitation of the unconscious by means of mass disinformation and discommunication. In other words, it is about human dreams in the era of dreams represented by television and virtual reality, radio and cinema, advertising and the Internet. This book is also a reading of S. Freud’s “Interpretation of Dreams” through the prism of various media and ways of introducing them into the human psyche. And this book is also an apology for “oneirocriticism”, a continuation of the tradition of Artemidorus, who called on every person to “be diligent in the interpretation of dreams day and night”, to make interpretation an integral part of the technique of existence.
