In the stories of Pavel Pepperstein (b. 1966), something else is felt very acutely. Whatever the plot the author takes on, the focus of the narrative is the relationship between cognition and fantasy, reality and virtuality. The author is considered a classic of psychedelic realism, a special movement in literature and the visual arts, whose principles were developed by the Inspection group “Medical Hermeneutics” (Pepperstein is one of the three founders of this legendary group). The direction is represented by the cult novel “The Mythogenic Love of Castes” by Pepperstein and Anufriev, as well as Pepperstein’s books “War Stories”, “Swastika and the Pentagon”, “Spring” and “Prague Night”, which caused a strong reaction from literary critics and readers from different countries.
