The book includes mainly poems from 2002–2008, published for the first time. The spiritual orientation of the collection is natural: Elena Egorova wrote most of the works after a pilgrimage to the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra (November 2006). These are cycles of poems dedicated to Russian monasteries and churches, Pushkin reserves and ancient estates, Russian nature and foreign travel, lyrical works about earthly and heavenly love, prayer and penitential poems, philosophical miniatures. Understanding and experiencing the centuries-old heritage of Christianity, the traditions of Russian literature and music , personal experience and events of recent decades were embodied in memorable poetic images that absorbed the pure spirituality of Orthodoxy and national culture. Their perception is facilitated by the author’s creative style, which arose at the intersection of classics and modernity and is distinguished by clarity and musicality, richness of language, beauty of rhyme and rhythmic diversity.
