The first issue of the almanac included local history essays on the centuries-old history of the Nikolo-Ugreshsky Monastery and surrounding villages located on the territory of the modern town of Dzerzhinsky near Moscow. The publication of the almanac is timed to coincide with the 630th anniversary of the founding of the Nikolo-Ugreshsky monastery by the holy noble prince Dmitry Donskoy in honor of the victory on the Kulikovo field and the 200th anniversary of the birth of the outstanding religious figure of the 19th century, the Venerable Pimen, Archimandrite of Ugreshsky. In the section “Ugreshsky Chronicler” special attention The authors of the essays focus on personalities whose activities had a decisive influence on the formation of the spiritual and natural-architectural environment of Ugreshi and the surrounding area: Grand Duke Dmitry Donskoy, Venerable Pimen of Ugreshsky, Archimandrites Nil (Skoronov), Valentin (Smirnov), Makariy (Yatrov), St. Makariy ( Nevsky), as well as poets and writers Abbot Anthony (Bochkov), Archimandrite Pimen (Blagovo), Yaroslav Smelyakov, Sergei Krasikov and others. The section ends with a brief chronicle of the Nikolo-Ugresha Monastery, covering the events of 1380–2010. The two final sections, “The Poetic Wreath of Ugresha” and “The Spiritual Flower Garden of Ugresha,” are compiled from the best poetic works of the authors of the literary association “Ugresha.” The poems published in the author's edition are dedicated to the native land and the spiritual and moral problems of our time. The book is intended for a wide range of readers.
