The collection, published by the Suhrkamp publishing house in 1999, contains the latest and fundamental research on political theory, which the author conducted, independently developing his theory of communication, as well as in collaboration with his like-minded people and students, at academic seminars and in open discussions. The main topic of research has a more practical, applied political meaning, although it receives an exhaustive theoretical justification from the standpoint of hermeneutic sociology and historical political science. Extremely relevant issues are interpreted from the organic context of all previous theoretical research of Habermas, the main task of whose scientific activity has always been the search for ways to preserve the rational principle of Western civilization, the possibilities of dialogue and mutual understanding between various and initially irreducible cultural and historical formations, a rational understanding of the complex world political process based on the history of the realities and ideas operating in it.
