Ordinary Soviet people still live in an ordinary five-story panel building. Their life is familiar - work, home, TV, dacha, or killing a “goat” with neighbors in the entrance. But leaving home, they encounter a world where the laws of the court, street, city, and country rule. And these laws, or rather their executors, do not always treat people favorably, forcing them to constantly make a choice: to obey, to pass silently, to dodge or to stamp their feet in indignation. This collection includes several stories about those who, due to circumstances, even against their will, suddenly became dissenters.
