The collection includes 15 works by a prominent Soviet orientalist, corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Sciences Nina Viktorovna Pigulevskaya (1894-1970): research articles on the history and cultural history of the Middle East, Byzantium and the Slavs, as well as translations of monuments of Syrian literature. Some of the materials in the collection are among the latest works of N.V. Pigulevskaya, which were not published during her lifetime; other works were previously included in various foreign collections and are published in Russian for the first time in this edition. The collection also contains a scientific biography of N.V. Pigulevskaya and a complete bibliography of her works.
