In 1900, the greatest American storyteller and one of the founders of the fantasy genre, Lyman Frank Baum, published the fairy tale book “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz,” which became a world bestseller. Thus began the story of the Magical Land of Oz, which continues to this day. Baum, who took the position of “Court Historian of the Land of Oz,” managed to tell us fourteen wonderful stories about adventures in this amazing country. From 1921 to 1939, this honor passed to the remarkable American children's writer Ruth Plumley Thompson, who added nineteen more works to the Great Canon of the Oz Chronicles. Seven of them were translated into Russian and published in 2001-2003 on the initiative and under the editorship of Evgeniy Vladimirovich Vitkovsky. Mysterious D.G. warns the prince that if he does not marry the "right princess" within seven days, his entire kingdom will disappear. The prince, along with the wise elephant Kabampo, decides to go to the Emerald City, since Prince Pampador can marry the “only correct” princess Ozma. The elegant Elephant, as one can understand, is worthy of his prince. Meanwhile, Ruggedo, the former King of the Dwarves, now living in an underground cave under the Emerald City, finds Glegg's box, which contains magical remedies for all occasions. Having managed to open the box, Ruggedo brings a wooden doll, Peg Millie, to life, makes Ushan the rabbit the size of a man, and turns himself into a giant. At the same time, Ozma's palace gets stuck on his head, and Ruggedo runs away in horror to the Land of Ev. After many adventures in the strange lands of Arithmetic, in the Illumi Nation, and the Soup Lake, Pampadore and Kabampo arrive in the Emerald City and learn that Princess Ozma has gone missing lead. They go looking for her and eventually meet Ushan and Peg Millie. The company reaches the edge of the Pernicious Desert, where it is captured by the Wandering Country - a huge wandering piece of the earth's surface. She takes her friends across the Desert to the Land of Eve. In the end, Peg Millie is revealed to be the Princess of Sun Mountain (she was turned into a tree by the evil wizard D. Glegg after she refused to leave marry him, and 2 months after that, Captain Bill cut down a tree and carved a doll out of it for the girl Trot), and Prince Pompador marries her.
