The goal of his new book, Alexander Sekatsky, a philosopher and Andrei Bely Prize laureate, is to try to understand, using the most ordinary things as an example, how the human world works as a whole. Take the anchor. If we consider it as a basic metaphor for thinking, then we can understand how the object of thought is held in its self-identity. Another object suitable as an archetype of human existence is the spinning top, a moving top. Using this example, we can consider the most important differences between independence and “self-rotation”, which, among other things, allows us to rethink the identity of substance and subject presented by Hegel. In addition to the section of such “metaphysical portraits”, the book presents two more: one touches on issues of reading and text, and the other is devoted to the problem of truth in an existential and historical key. The publishing layout of the book is saved in PDF A4 format.
