English poet Eugene Leigh-Hamilton (1845–1907) is one of the most interesting figures in late Victorian poetry, a recognized master of the sonnet, a man of tragic fate. For twenty years he was almost completely paralyzed, and during these years - chained to a wheeled bed - he created his poetry books. Lee-Hamilton's work was still unknown to our readers. This edition contains a complete translation by Yuri Lukach of the poet’s best books: “Imaginary Sonnets” (1888) and “Sonnets of the Wingless Hours” (1894), as well as selected poems from other collections. The translations are accompanied by a detailed scientific commentary, which has not yet been found in any English-language edition of Lee-Hamilton.
